Robert J. and Nancy D. Carney Institute for Brain Science

Giving to Carney

The high-impact work of the Carney Institute begins with our ability to invest in innovative research and build an exceptional community of collaborative scientists.

Make an Impact.

Carney Institute researchers include the world’s leading thinkers on artificial intelligence, ground-breakers in brain science and education, and inventors of tools used by scientists all over the world. They collaborate from all corners of campus to understand the brain, uncover insights into brain diseases and disorders, develop life-changing therapies, and train the next generation of brain scientists.

Our supporters are an integral part of the Carney community. With gifts of all sizes, they enable our ability to attract and retain top scientific talent, train the next generation of researchers, and fund high-risk, high-reward projects that drive discovery.

Carney has three philanthropic priorities outlined in its strategic plan:

  • People: Endowed Professorships; Postdoctoral Research Funds; Graduate Awards in Brain Science; Undergraduate Teaching and Research Awards (UTRAs)
  • InnovationInnovation Award Funds; BRAINSTORM program
  • CommunityCarney Research Building

In addition, the Director’s Fund provides critical support across all three categories. We are grateful for your partnership as we work together to make Carney a top-ranked global leader in brain science.

Ways to give:

“ The advances we make at the Carney Institute are helping to shape the future –– improving quality of life for patients affected by brain diseases, building the foundational science that drives innovation, and creating transformative tools used by researchers around the world. ”
