What/when were you at Brown?
Graduate student, 2006-2012.

How did your experience at Brown (in the lab, in the classroom, and in the Brown community) prepare you for what you do today?
It was at Brown University during my Biomedical Engineering graduate education that I found and formulated my academic interest in neurotechnology. Working with outstanding, dedicated professors around the University, from John Donoghue in Neuroscience to Arto Nurmikko and Leigh Hochberg in the School of Engineering, I developed confidence in myself and my work, within a comfortable, open, and supportive community. At Brown, I was able to take courses across traditional departmental boundaries, from Applied Mathematics, to Neuroscience, and Semiconductor Physics, that I believed would enhance my research. My time at Brown launched me on a path towards a successful postdoctoral fellowship, supported by a Marie Curie Foundation Award. I am excited to be new faculty at Brown and have the opportunity to contribute to the positive community that formed who I am today.
