Carney Human Testing Spaces include electrically shielded and sound attenuated testing rooms that are used for consenting psychometric testing and/or electroencephalogram tests (EEG), and a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) facility equipped with an MRI-based neuronavigation system and multiple types of hand-held coils.

The Carney Institute for Brain Science houses several different spaces for research with human participants, collectively known as the Carney Human Testing Space (Carney “HuTS”).
For Researchers
The Carney Human Testing Space (Carney HuTS) includes several electrically shielded human testing rooms. There is one shared testing room available for general use. It is ideally suited for behavioral studies that require only portable equipment (e.g. a laptop) and/or for consenting participants that will participate in TMS experiments.
The transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) facility is located within an electrically shielded room.
For Participants
The Carney Institute for Brain Science Human Testing Spaces (Carney HuTS) are located at 164 Angell St. on the 4th floor. This is the building on the corner of Angell Street and Thayer Street with the Brown Bookstore on the first floor.
